Open Data for Development (OD4D) works to support governments in their open data initiatives. Some of the key areas of work in this area include:

Peer Networks

Our work aims to promote and facilitate collaboration and knowledge-sharing among leading open data innovators working in governments around the world. Through this work, OD4D provides guidance, training, mentoring and peer-learning to a network of global open data leaders. For example, OD4D supports the Open Data Leaders Network (Global and edition in East Europe and Central Asia) and the Open Data stream of the Latin America e-Government Network (RedGealc).

Technical Support & Capacity Building

OD4D provides direct technical assistance to governments to plan and implement open data programmes. In Latin America, our regional hub has provided support to Peru, El Salvador and Costa Rica through round table discussions, which included various stakeholders to guide the development of their open data policies.
