Open Data for Development works to scale data solutions for sustainable development. This work is achieved in part through:
OD4D supports open data training for civil society to better use open data. One program includes School of Data Fellows, which work in their local communities to enhance local engagement and capacity.
OD4D works to support the development of innovative platforms and applications. These innovations help civil society better understand and use open data. One example is the web platform atuservicio.uy, which allows interactive comparison between health centres in Uruguay, allowing people to make better informed decisions when choosing their health care.
Open Data Packages are toolkits which act as a roadmap for governments. The Open Data Packages suggest policy areas where open data can be supported in particular sectors. For example, check out the latest Agriculture Open Data Package, which discusses six policy areas where open data can support the agricultural sector.
