Research study on the open data initiatives in the ECA region, providing insights into the general state of open data.

Data Journalism

Training journalists to be more data-literate has been a priority for this region. Working with local universities, trainings were provided to early-stage journalists to better understand and use data for evidence-based storytelling.

Ministry of Data

The Ministry of Data is a challenge focusing on using data to improve city governance in the western balkans. In 2016, 4 cities agreed to participate. Out of 10 participating teams, five were awarded prizes for their innovative solutions in areas ranging from tax information, air pollution to city mobility.
